At Sainsbury’s, the recruitment transformation hinged on a full-scale implementation of Oracle Taleo, and the project needed someone who could translate the complexities of enterprise HR tech into something usable, reliable, and genuinely helpful for thousands of hiring managers. My role sat right at that intersection. I designed the end-to-end workflows, interpreted policy requirements into system logic, and shaped the candidate and recruiter experience so the new platform wasn’t just functional — it was a measurable upgrade. Working with Deloitte and Oracle, I handled the configuration, testing, and user-side validation that turned a corporate blueprint into a live, operational system.
Beyond the technical build, the project required a level of stewardship that kept cross-functional teams aligned. I bridged the gap between developers, HR operations, and in-store recruitment teams, ensuring the implementation reflected real-world hiring challenges rather than abstract requirements. The result was a stable, scalable Taleo setup that modernised how Sainsbury’s hired across retail, logistics, and head office functions — a system that embedded best practice, reduced friction, and delivered a recruitment experience fit for a national employer.
