Disneyland Paris Resort Tycoon is an immersive simulation and management experience inspired by the magic of Disney parks. I created the design and development of the digital concept—building an interactive interface where players could design attractions, manage guests, and balance the enchantment of creativity with the strategy of operations. The visual style was deliberately nostalgic yet modern, blending park-map aesthetics with clean UI elements within the custom GPT’s image generation instructions in order to keep it as magical as possible!
Behind the scenes, the simulation is quite complex. The GPT is designed to simulate weather, European macro-economic conditions, as well as the activities of other European (and even worldwide) Theme Parks, as well as simulate guest enthusiasm for current attractions, characters, new Disney franchises, etc.
What I enjoyed most was shaping the “feel” of the experience — that sense of running a living, breathing resort rather than just clicking through a spreadsheet in disguise. The system responds dynamically to the player’s decisions, which means no two playthroughs behave the same. It’s playful, unpredictable, and surprisingly strategic, and that combination is exactly what makes the whole concept so fun to build. All inspired, of course, by growing up with the likes of Roller Coaster Tycoon, and my enduring love for the early instalments of that franchise.
